A Comprehensive Islamic Education

Each lesson draws from these four areas — the mix varies day to day, so your child builds knowledge across all subjects over time. Click any subject to see what's covered.

📖

Qur'an Recitation

From first letters to confident reading

  • Qaida for beginners — Arabic letters, their sounds and joining
  • Progress through short ayahs, then Juz' Amma and beyond
  • Each child reads at their own level with individual tracking
  • Focus on fluency, confidence and a love of the Qur'an
🗣️

Tajweed

Rules of beautiful, correct recitation

  • Correct letter pronunciation — Makhaarij al-Huroof (points of articulation)
  • Letter characteristics — Sifaat (heavy, light, nasal sounds and more)
  • Elongation (Madd), nasalisation (Ghunna) and Qalqala rules
  • Correct stopping (Waqf) and starting (Ibtidaa) points
  • Applied while reading Qur'an — not taught as theory alone
🤲

Duas

Essential supplications for daily life

  • Daily duas: waking up, sleeping, eating, entering and leaving home
  • Duas for travel, the toilet, looking in the mirror and sneezing
  • Protective duas — Ayat al-Kursi and the three Quls
  • Every dua taught with its meaning so children understand what they say
  • Progressive duas by year group from the An-Nasihah curriculum
🌙

Islamic Studies

Faith, character, history & practice

  • Aqeedah — belief in Allah, angels, books, prophets and the Last Day
  • The Five Pillars of Islam — Shahadah, Salah, Sawm, Zakah, Hajj
  • Fiqh basics — Wudu, Salah method and fasting rules for children
  • Seerah — the life of the Prophet ﷺ
  • History — stories of the Prophets and the Companions
  • Akhlaq — Islamic manners, kindness, honesty and good character

Testimonials

Hear from the families already part of the Nurul Quran Academy community.

★★★★★

My daughter has come on so much in just one term. She now reads her Qur'an with confidence and actually enjoys coming to class — that says everything.

The online option has been a blessing for us. My son is fully engaged in every session and Ustadah Sajida is incredibly patient and encouraging with him.

The small class size makes such a difference. The teacher knows exactly where my child is in her learning and communicates with us regularly. Highly recommend.

We tried a larger madrasah before and our son was lost in the crowd. Here he is seen as an individual — his Tajweed has improved dramatically in a few months.

We welcome girls aged 5 and above and boys aged 5–10. If you're unsure whether your child falls within the right age group, please get in touch and we'll advise.

The fee is £10 per week, paid as a single term payment at the start of each term. The term fee is calculated by multiplying £10 by the number of weeks in that term — for example, a 6-week term is £60, a 7-week term is £70. Term dates and the fee for that term are announced in advance so you always know exactly what to expect.

Fees are paid by bank transfer and are due by the first week of term. No fees are due during UK school holidays or Eid. Please note that fees are non-refundable for missed sessions during term time.

Yes. We deliberately keep class sizes small so that every child receives individual attention and the teacher can monitor each student's progress closely. We recommend registering your interest early to avoid disappointment for the September 2026 intake.

Yes — we offer live, interactive online sessions via video call on the same timetable as our in-person classes. The curriculum and teaching quality are identical. This is a great option for families outside of Coventry or who have difficulty travelling.

We use the An Nasihah Islamic Curriculum — a structured, child-friendly programme widely adopted by madrasahs across the UK. All students are required to purchase the relevant textbooks and workbooks (details provided on enrolment).

Yes. Ustadah Sajida holds a current Enhanced DBS certificate, which is regularly renewed. Your child's safety and wellbeing is our absolute priority.

Yes. Children are expected to attend wearing modest Islamic clothing — Jubbah or Abaya with topi or hijab. This helps maintain the right environment and etiquette for Islamic learning.

Classes follow the UK school holiday schedule — no fees are payable during these breaks. Additional holidays are given for Eid ul Fitr and Eid ul Adha when these fall during term time on a weekday.

Absolutely. We welcome complete beginners. Whether your child knows the Arabic alphabet or is starting from scratch, we will assess their level and place them appropriately so they can progress at the right pace.
